This year’s Youth Forum is greatly expanded to accommodate the younger generation as they approach and move forward into the ham community. We will  feature three locations to serve their needs and interests. These include a separate forum room and two new booths including a major new gathering space and a kit building booth in the middle of the Exhibit Hall.

Following the lead of the Dayton Hamvention, a large center space has been created for young hams and possible future hams to call their own. It will provide ongoing activities, puzzles and games as well as some instructional sessions. We see it as a home base providing safety, community and access to other exhibits.

The Kit Building Booth will also follow the Dayton model and will be a re-creation of a very popular hands on activity to include individuals and family projects. It will be facilitated by Patrick Bunsold WA6MHZ. Many different kits will be available to purchase and build with the provided tools.

As you can see, Pacificon 2012 has been organized to attract as many young new members and attendees as possible. You are encouraged to bring your children so that you can share and introduce the amateur radio experience to your loved ones.
