W1AW/6 Special Event Station

Plan to get on-the-air using the world’s most recognized call sign: W1AW/6 will be located in a large tent in the outdoor display/swap area, 100 yards from the convention’s main entrance. Operating frequencies are as follows (+/- QRM):

  • CW: 3.550 MHz, 7.050 MHz, 10.110 MHz, 14.050 MHz, 21.050 MHz and 28.050 MHz
  • SSB: 3.870 MHz, 7.270 MHz, 14.270 MHz, 21.370 MHz, 28.670 MHz
  • Simplex: 146.49 MHz

Come hear "The Sounds of Amateur Radio" At Pacificon 2012 you will have a chance to hear the sounds of amateur radio in action. Ham radio operators will be using state-of-the-art HF base station radios to transmit live on different frequency bands, making contact with other hams in the nation and around the world. Children and adults who are not yet licensed hams will have an opportunity to use the radios under the direction of licensed hams. The Pacificon Talk-In radio operator will be located in the hotel using a 2-meter radio on a speaker system to communicate with local visitors who are on their way to the convention.
